According to today’s RTD, it looks like the Women’s Designer Store, Coplon’s, is shutting its doors over on River Road and is heading over to Carytown next week. Owner Hang Greenberg will also be changing its name to Roan in the process.

Changing the name, along with the new space, goes a long way toward rebranding the store.

Greenberg defines Roan as “a realm of color, pattern and texture that is never the same, never dulls and has unlimited possibilities.”

Roan will carry such established designers as Pucci and Valentino as well as emerging designers, including Alexander Wang and Sophie Theallet, he said

as for the new space itself…..

The 7,000-square-foot space has exposed walls and ceilings, rows of track lighting and cloudlike squares floating over the shop floor. It is geared toward a younger shopper.

The store will have private rooms where regular customers can check out clothing lines and outfits chosen for them by salespeople. There also will be a bar, lush dressing rooms and private space for employees.

“The feeling is a lot more urban and fun. Much more of the SoHo feeling,” Greenberg said, referring to the trendy neighborhood in Manhattan.
