Q94 radio personality Melissa Chase was out at Short Pump Town Center on Friday afternoon for the third annual Bras On Broad, an event to raise awareness for breast cancer. As part of the event, Broad Street was lined with hundreds of bras donated by Q94 listeners. Saxon Shoes donated $1 to the Richmond chapter of Susan G. Komen For The Cure for each bra given.

“I think we’re just trying to promote that breast cancer is out there,” Chase said of the event. “I think most of us know someone affected by breast cancer and it’s not going away without our help. We do this to help find a permanent cure and to make people aware that they need to get their mammograms.”

The donated bras stretched from just west of Chili’s near Broad at Spring Oak Drive all the way to the main entrance of the mall at Lauderdale Drive.

Exact figures on funds raised by the event were not immediately available.
