On January 8th a fire in the hood system of Amour started and was put out with no injuries. The restaurant is closed and expects to stay that way for a bit as clean up progresses. Yesterday on Facebook they stated, “After having power, gas and heat restored in the last days, today is another clean up day. All debris are removed from the building and the construction work will start soon.”

Richmond.com spoke with the owner.

Owner Paul Heitz says the restaurant will likely be closed for a few weeks and restoration work is beginning this week.

He said many of his Carytown neighbors have reached out to offer help and support and it sounds like a possible benefit dinner could be in the works as well as pop-up events.

“At this point I am very touch by all the support and encouragement from the community. So many people want help. I am blessed and lucky to be in Richmond,” Heitz said.
