The first Petanque-offs were organized in 1959. The most recent championships were held in Charleston (2000), Raleigh (2001), Harrisburg (2002, 2004 and 2006), Baltimore (2003), Savanna (2005), and Atlanta (2007). Fifty-two teams participated in 2007.
