2011 Best of the West Awards: The Winners Have Been Announced!
The mission of Downtown Short Pump, after first and foremost being the go-to place for news and community information in the Far West End, has been to highlight local businesses in an area seen by many as really only having chain restaurants and big box stores. We’re happy to prove this theory wrong again for the second year by revealing your votes for the 2011 Best of the West Awards– many of them locally-owned.
About a month ago, we took your nominations for each award category. The following week, we took the top five or six venues nominated in each category and put them up for voting by our readers, and we thank you for your hundreds and hundreds of votes (more than triple the number votes last year).
Just like last year, all first place winners will receive a hand-delivered framed plaque of their award in the coming weeks.
