Edward Shearn Jr. and his East End neighbors are pushing back against the city of Richmond’s plan to build a $137 million jail at the site of the current facility on Fairfield Way. […]
Lawrence E. Williams Sr., an Eastview resident who ran unsuccessfully for mayor in 2004 and 2008, said the jail has been a blight on the East End for decades and must be relocated to give the next generation of residents a chance at prosperity.
