VCU athletic department still awaiting printed season tickets

Just one week away from the first tipoff, some season ticket holders aren’t holding tickets.

Update #1 — October 26th, 5:13 PM

Friday afternoon, the VCU Athletics department sent out an email reassuring everyone that the ticket situation will be resolved. Everyone can sigh a collective breath of relief as Thursday’s game will go on without any hiccups.

The VCU Athletic Department received notice on Friday, October 26 from our ticket printing vendor that the season tickets have been shipped, and we expect to receive them on Saturday. The department has made arrangements with UPS to ship your season tickets on Monday through overnight transportation. On Monday, October 29, you will receive an email notification from UPS with a tracking number for your reference.

For fans who have made prior arrangements to pick up your season tickets at the VCU Ticket Office, you can begin to pick them up on Monday, October 29 at 1:00 p.m. Please bring a photo ID to verify identification. If you are a VCU season ticket holder whose mailing address is a campus mailbox, your season ticket packet will be placed in campus mail on Monday morning.

This offseason, VCU Athletics sold out of men’s basketball season tickets for the 2012-13 season. The problem: VCU Athletics still hasn’t received the shipment from the printers. Just one week away from the first tipoff, season ticket holders aren’t holding tickets.

On Wednesday afternoon, the athletics department sent out a brief email explaining the situation:

As of Wednesday afternoon, the VCU Athletic Department has not received the season ticket shipment from the printing vendor. The Ticket Office is and will be in continuous communication with the vendor regarding the expected shipment date. Currently, shipment is expected by the end of the week. When confirmation of delivery to VCU is received from the vendor, you will receive an email from the Ticket Office on the status of the season ticket delivery.

Please be assured that every effort will continue to be made to get your tickets in your hands prior to Thursday’s exhibition game.
