Squirrels look to shake slump in New Jersey

We need a new name for Flying Squirrels when they’re sucking, because they are. Overall, Richmond has lost ten of their last 12 home games after starting the season 13-3 at The Diamond.

The Richmond Limping Chipmunks (27-27) head out to New Jersey to lose 2 or 3 games in what will be their first and only series at the Trenton Thunder (31-21) this season.

Trenton holds second place in the Eastern Division of the league. They’ve got a league-best 18-8 home record, and are one of the higher scoring club as well. As the heavy-hitting Binghamton Mets and the Aloona Curve have bedeviled the Richmond Sleeping Gerbils, expect Trenton to triumph handily with scores like 9-2 or perhaps 11-0.

With a last night’s loss to the Senators, the Richmond Weeping Tarsiers matched their longest losing streak of the season, having now dropped five games in a row. Overall, Richmond has lost ten of their last 12 home games after starting the season 13-3 at The Diamond. Want more? The Dancing Hamsters have not taken any of their last 6 series, having dropped 4 and tied 2. After kissing 1st place for minute halfway through May, the Flinching Sloths have dropped 8 1/2 games out to 4th place (and that only due to Erie’s even more dramatic collapse).
