The Flying Squirrels held their own in Altoona and now play host to the Bowie Baysox to kick off the 2nd half of the season.

The 5th place Squirrels are 6 games under .500 and 5 1/2 games out of 2nd place. They’ve struggled for some time, but keep showing signs of getting back into the mix. Over the most recent series, they beat Altoona 4-1 in the first game, dropped 2 close ones, and then were winning the 4th game when it was suspended for rain. As dominating as Altoona has been, this was a good showing for Richmond.

This homestand could be a good chance to see the Squirrels pick up some momemntum. Like their first games at the Diamond back in April, the Squirrels could use a few good games against the Baysox.
