River City Magnolias to show off their synchronized swimming this Saturday

“We share a nostalgia for the spirit of synchronized swimming of yesteryear while celebrating the current energy of our community.” – River City Magnolias Mission Statement

In July of last year we covered the creation of the River City Magnolias, an amateur synchronized swim team. Fast forward to almost a year later and this group of women are set to show off all their hard water work.

Team meetings/practices are held Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Downtown YMCA so if you’ve got the urge head down there and check it out.

They’ve set up a Facebook event to get word out about their performance and the best part is that you’ll be able to jump in and learn some moves.

The River City Magnolias will be hosting their first ever public performance June 14, 4:00 PM at the Randolph Pool in Richmond, VA! Come check out what we’ve been working on for the last year and join us in welcoming the beginning of swim season!

We’ll be selling t-shirts with our fabulous new logo, collecting donations of youth goggles for our friends at the Randolph Pool, and hosting performances of some of our Richmond-area water ballet friends. You too are welcome to swim before and after our performance — we’ll even show you some moves! More details coming soon!
