Registration open for youth sports

Looking for something to keep the kids busy after school? Sign ‘em up with Richmond Parks and Rec youth sports this fall.

Registration has begun for Richmond’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Facilities offering of fall sports, but there’s still plenty of time to get your little athletes signed up and ready to go for the coming season.

Children ages 14 and younger interested in playing football or participating in cheerleading can register through August 22nd. Those who’d like to play soccer can register through September 12th.

You can register at community centers1 throughout the city. The cost is $25 per child, per activity for kids who live within the City of Richmond. Children who are not residents of Richmond are welcome to register, but you will be charged $55 plus a non-residency fee of $20. Proof of residency (utility bill, pay stub, recent tax return, etc.) is required when you sign up.

For more information–including each program’s structure and practice schedule–be sure to check out the Athletics Division section on the Parks and Rec website.
