Gran Fondo hitting the streets of Richmond on Saturday

Join fellow cyclists on a Tour of Richmond.

You might notice quite a few more bicycles on our local roads this Saturday as not one but four large organized group rides will be taking place. This all part of the MARTIN’S Tour of Richmond Gran Fondo. Gran Fondo means “big ride” in Italian and that’s exactly what this is, a ride not a race.

Online registration is closed but you can register in person today at 4:00 PM at Richmond Raceway Complex
(600 E. Laburnum Ave.) and tomorrow starting at 6:00 at the same location.

The courses have quite the range as well so that no matter your skill or endurance level there is an event just for you. Options include the 101-mile (Gran Fondo), 78-mile (Medio Fondo), 58-mile (Piccolo Fondo), and the 29-mile (Mini Fondo). Each previous link provides the course and there is a bigger version of the map below here.

You failed to mention that the Virginia Cyclocross Series will be holding the Richmond Festival of Cross CX races Saturday at Chimborazo Park and Sunday and Bryan Park

  2. Thank you for choosing a good headline. The RTD chose to headline their ToR article “Cyclists Take Over Richmond”. A poor choice in my opinion. It was hardly a takeover!
