The running of the kiddies

Get your wee ones in on the fun of the Monument Avenue 10k with the Virginia 529 Kids Run.

When you get yourself registered for the Monument Avenue 10k (scheduled for March 29, 2014), don’t forget to sign your kids up for the Virginia 529 Kids Run!

This one-mile run is open to kids ages 5 – 12. One parent may run with any child ages eight and under. The run begins at 8:00 AM, starts at Cathedral Place on Laurel Street, and finishes through the same chute as the 10k-ers where your young runners will be greeted by cheering crowds, food, and all kinds of fun festivities.

Registration is $15 through January 31st. The price goes up to $20 through the month of February and up to $25 starting March 1st. Walk-up registration at the race expo/packet pick-up on March 27th and 28th is $30.

All Kids Run participants get a T-shirt, racing bib, goodie bag, and a finisher’s medal (10k runners don’t even get a finisher’s medal, so that’s pretty sweet).
