5k & 10K Trail Run in the James River Park Sunday March 15th.

Sunday, March 15th is the 4th annual James River Run. All proceeds from this event will go to the James River Park System in honor of Greg Hawkins. Greg lost a battle with cancer in 2013. He was extremely active in the James River Park community and getting more people to take advantage of the park.

As part of this year’s event, there will be an unveiling one of the  three water fountains that were purchased using the money raised from previous James River Runs.

The start and finish are at Reedy Creek Meadow.

The Reedy Creek Meadow in the James River Park. The course will wind through single track trails next to the James before taking runners over to Belle Isle and eventually back to the meadow via Buttermilk Trail. This Year we are offering a longer 10K version of the race that will take runner into Forest Hill Park before finishing the race back at The Reedy Creek Meadow. Online registration is $25 for both the 5k and 10k races. In person registration will also be available the day of the event for $30.
