Woman stabbed on GRTC bus

Argument leads to stabbing among three women.

Details from NBC12

A woman in her 20s was stabbed after she got a fight with two other women on-board the bus as it was near West Broad and North Lombardy streets, according to Richmond Police.

The woman who was stabbed was taken to VCU Medical Center. Her condition is currently not known.

Police have detained two women and are now talking to witnesses. NBC12 spoke to one man, the pastor of a church, who said he first witnessed two of the women arguing outside the bus. Then, he said, the woman with the knife got back on the bus. The pastor then got on the bus himself, and said he witnessed the stabbing.

The pastor said he chased two of the women — the woman with the knife and the other woman who remained outside the bus — for five blocks before police caught up to them.

Detectives say the three women were not strangers.
