Body Recovered from the Kanawha Canal
The Richmond Police Department is investigating the discovery of the body of an adult male found this morning in the Kanawha Canal.
Members of the Richmond Fire Department and the Norfolk Police Department Harbor Patrol dive teams spotted the body at approximately 8:36 a.m. as they were preparing to enter the water to conduct a search for the body of a missing Richmond man, Randall Collins.
The Medical Examiner’s Office has determined the body is not that of Collins.
Investigators will now work to identify the body and uncover the circumstances surrounding his death.
Anyone who may have information about this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by your tip. Both methods are anonymous.
