Vote Shaka, win $100,000 for local charity

Help this Gilpin Court charity by wreaking HAVOC! on Shaka Smart’s competition.

Fans of Shaka Smart can help local charity FRIENDS Association for Children win $100,000 through ESPN’s annual Coaches Charity Challenge.

ESPN has selected 48 basketball coaches, each of whom has selected a charity to represent. Fans cast their votes for their favorite coach, with the winner earning $100,000 for their selected charity. The current round of voting ends on January 26th.

Based in Gilpin Court, FRIENDS Association for Children has existed since 1871. It’s a nonprofit child and family agency that serves roughly 1,000 children ages six weeks to 17-years-old and helps them attain critical literacy and developmental skills.

Here’s a video documenting Smart’s support of the local charity:

Richmonders and VCU fans can visit the Vote Shaka website to learn more about the local charity and can cast their vote on the Coaches Charity Challenge website.
