Virginia Employment Commission building evacuated due to gas leak

No word on when they’ll be able to go back in.

From NBC12 we get news of a building evacuation.

Workers at the Virginia Employment Commission are being evacuated from their downtown Richmond building due to a gas leak.

The leak was detected around 1:45 p.m. between 4th and 8th streets at Canal Street. however, the building at the corner of 7th and Main streets wasn’t being evacuated until nearly an hour later, according to state officials.

Officials haven’t given any indication as to when the leak will be fixed or the workers will be allowed to return.
