VCU police looking “person of interest” in recent car theft

The moral of the story is don’t leave your car unattended and running.

Shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Friday, a 1996 gold Saturn sedan with license plate XAG-1802 was stolen from the 1200 block of East Marshall Street in Richmond, according to university police.

The car had been left running when it was taken, police said.

Anyone who recognizes the man in a photo obtain by police is asked to call VCU police at (804) 828-1196, or anonymously text the message “VCUTIP” to 274637. VCU police detectives can be reached during business hours at (804) 828-6409.
