Up-and-coming chefs featured in Fall Line Brunch Fest presented by Kroger

Some of Richmond’s most promising chefs will prepare an amazing brunch. And you’re invited.

Fall Line Brunch Fest presented by Kroger will showcase the culinary chops of eight local chefs at The Broadberry on September 6th as part of the second annual FALL LINE FEST. The buffet-style brunch event, free to everyone with a standard FALL LINE FEST pass, is a new way for the local festival to celebrate the city’s dining scene.

FALL LINE FEST is a music, art, and food festival and the challenge was to find a way to celebrate what makes food unique in Richmond,” said Karri Peifer, co-organizer of the nonprofit festival that launched last year. “Brunch is a beloved Richmond event, so we thought this would be the perfect way to showcase some of the culinary talent in a way that jibed with the mission of FALL LINE FEST.”

Instead of celebrating Richmond’s most well-known chefs, FALL LINE FEST deliberately picked the city’s fledgling talents. “We want to reach out to what we’re kind of calling the next generation of talent in Richmond,” Peifer said. “FALL LINE FEST is a young festival and, thus far, the demographic of attendees has skewed slightly younger. So we wanted to showcase some of the up and coming talent in Richmond who we haven’t seen a lot of on the festival circuit.”

Although the final line-up of chefs hasn’t been confirmed, Peifer said that chefs and sous chefs from the following restaurants will have a seat at the table: The Viceroy, Society, The Blue Goat, The Camel, Toast, the Mint Room by Haxall Point, and Amour Wine Bistro.

In addition to the chefs’ signature dishes, brunch cocktails will also be available at the first-come-first-serve event.

Fall Line Brunch Fest presented by Kroger takes place on Saturday, September 6th at The Broadberry from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Free admission and food to those with a standard FALL LINE FEST pass, cash bar.

FALL LINE FEST runs Friday, September 5th – Saturday, September 6th.
