Trash pickup delayed two days

Good luck getting down most of the city’s alleys, ye brave men and women of refuse collection.

From CBS6:

City officials announced that solid waste collection will resume Wednesday, Jan. 27.

The service is on a two-day delay. If your trash was scheduled for Monday, it will be picked up Wednesday.

A usually-scheduled Tuesday collection will now take place on Thursday, and so on, until the regular schedule is back in place.

Residents who have alley collection are asked to bring their supercan to the end of the alley to help expedite the process.

Residents are asked for their continued patience as refuse collection crews may not be able to access all cans due to the record snowfall in the city.

Residents also have the option of disposing of their trash at the Richmond Southside Transfer Station, 3520 Hopkins Road.

The hours of operation are Monday thru Friday 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. To further assist residents, the transfer station also will be open on Sunday, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
