Toddler’s mother’s disappearance called “suspicious” *UPDATED*

According to Richmond Police, the mother of the toddler found alone in the parking lot of the Addison at Swift Creek Apartments in Chesterfield County at around 11:30pm last night disappeared yesterday under “suspicious circumstances.”

Richmond Police is asking for the public’s assistance to help find the mother of a 2-year-old who was found abandoned in Chesterfield County.

The mother, Tameka Claiborne, 27, disappeared yesterday under suspicious circumstances from her apartment in the 700 block of Blandy Avenue in Richmond. Richmond Police responded to her address with Chesterfield Police investigators. Officers are concerned for Claiborne’s safety and she may be in danger.

Anyone with information about Claiborne’s whereabouts should call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or they may speak directly to Richmond Police Detective Mark Williams at (804) 513-0955.

According to reports on NBC12, neither Ms. Claiborne nor the child’s father (who does not share a home with the mother and little boy) lives in the apartment complex where the child was found.

Investigators from Richmond Police and Chesterfield County Police are looking for Michael Solomon.

Solomon, 28, of Hopewell has been identified as a person of interest in the disappearance of Tameka Claiborne. Solomon drives a gold 2006 Chevrolet Malibu with Virginia license plate number XTU-2530.

    A body found yesterday in Charles City has been identified as Tameka Claiborne.

    Michael Solomon turned himself into police about 90 minutes before the body was found.

    According to the Richmond Police, they are still looking for a gold 2006 Chevrolet Malibu with Virginia license plate number XTU-2530 as part of this investigation.

    So sad. Our hearts go out to Ms. Claiborne’s son and the rest of her family.
