Talk with Richmond’s new LGBTQ police Liaison tonight at Diversity Richmond

The conversation begins tonight at 6:30.

More from GayRVA.com:

Tonight is your big chance to meet Richmond’s new LGBTQ police Liaison, Cap. Angela Green, when she’ll be part of an event hosted at Diversity Richmond from 6:30-8 PM.

As we reported when she was first announced, Captain Green is a New Jersey native and has been part of the Richmond Police Department for 14 years. She spent the last few years in a similar community outreach program as part of the Community, Youth and Intervention services (CYIS) division.

She worked with community members across the board, from at risk youth to senior citizens to members of the latino community as well as business owners.

She identifies as heterosexual and is married with children. While she admitted she doesn’t have much experience working with the LGBTQ community, she expressed great interest and excitement in finding ways to get involved. Green hopes to continue the last LGBTQ Liaison’s legacy, which made history by bridging the gap between sexual minorities in Richmond and the RPD.
