State officials looking into cloudy water at Bryan Park
Bad news is that the water is looking a little off. The good news is that the water isn’t killing any fish or appear to be a threat.
The state Department of Environmental Quality sent an inspector to the park about midday Wednesday after the Richmond Times-Dispatch relayed to the agency a report of “milky” water in a stream in the park.
DEQ spokesman Bill Hayden said the inspector found “some cloudiness” in the stream, Jordan’s Branch.
The inspector did not see any dead fish or other serious problems, Hayden said.
There are reports of dead water lilies but the cause of death is unknown at this time.
