Standing Together gathering in response to Islamphobia and xenophobia

The “Standing Together” Public Event is Sunday, January 10th at 4 PM.

In response to increasing Islamophobia, xenophobia, and divisive rhetoric, the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities and community partners invite the public to a “Standing Together” gathering to explore themes of interfaith understanding, solidarity, and community.

What: “Standing Together” Public Event

When: Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 4:00pm – 5:30pm

Where: Congregation Beth Ahabah (1111 West Franklin Street, Richmond, VA)

Who: Speakers and panelists will include religious and lay leaders from Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, and Unitarian Universalist traditions. The general public is invited to the event.

How: The program will include diverse speakers, an interfaith panel, and facilitated small group discussions exploring themes of interfaith understanding, solidarity, and community.

Why: To demonstrate support for the Muslim community and to stand together against divisive and bigoted rhetoric
