RVA Mag talks with Hardywood

Hardywood’s history and influence – A Richmond craft beer icon shares its roots

The past week Richmond conversations have been dominated by two main topics, Richmond Marathon street closures and finding Hardywood Gingerbread Stout. The first I’m not going to touch because it’s the same every year, the second has a n easy solution simply go to Hardywood Craft Brewery and pick some up.

RVA Mag doesn’t go for such low hanging fruit and instead sits down and talks with brewmaster Patrick Murtaugh, head brewer Brian Nelson, and hospitality manager Kerry Anderson about the brewery in this article.

What inspires Hardywood most from the City of Richmond and the people within it?

Patrick: The creativity, individuality, and community pride in RVA has been particularly inspiring. More than anything, we have been blown away by the level of support we have received from the people of Richmond.
