(Note: The events listed here have been included because they specifically stated that hunts were going down. For other Easter-related events, keep an eye on our events calendar. We’ll be adding information on additional egg hunts as we learned about them.)

Eggstravaganza at Forest Hill Park

Face painting, music, arts and crafts, balloon artists, a chance to get your photo taken with Mr. Bunny, and a hunt for over 30,000 eggs! Kids need to bring their own baskets and arrive early to register. There will be three egg hunts with the kids divided up by age group. The littlest ones (ages 4 and under) will kick things off at noon. Saturday, March 27, 10am to 2pm, Forest Hill Park (W. 42nd Street and Forest Hill Avenue), free!

9th Annual Egg-cellent Family Day at VMFA

Join Hoppity Rabbit for an afternoon of an egg-citing (I know, I know) egg hunt, outdoor games, art activities, and a live musical performance by the Richmond Indigenous Gourd Orchestra! Saturday, March 27, 1pm, Virgina Museum of Fine Arts (2800 Grove Avenue), $10 ($8 for members).

Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Iron Bridge Park

1st Annual Adult Easter Egg Hunt

Hunt for eggs, win awesome prizes, enjoy a few drinky-drinks, and have some Easter fun that won’t involve toddlers covered in melted chocolate. Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? Friday, April 2, 7pm, Meadow Event Park (off 95, exit 98 near Kings Dominion), $10.

Maymont Family Easter

It’s Spring! Time to go to Maymont! They’ve got a 100 acre, 100 egg hunt planned (families work together to find eggs that will get them some SWEET prizes), along with tons of games, chances to hang out with the animals, an Easter bonnet parade, and more! Some activities require tickets. Saturday, April 3, 11am to 3pm, tickets are $1 each.

Shirley Plantation Easter Egg Hunt

Give the kiddies a good taste of tradition and head out to Charles City for an afternoon at Shirley Plantation. The hunt is open to children ages 3 to 10, and the top three egg-finders will win prizes from the gift shop. Bring your own basket! Saturday, April 2, 2:30pm, $11 for adults, $7.50 for kids.

Easter in the Heart of the City

Well, this is as about the most Richmondy Easter you can get. An egg hunt on the Capitol Lawn hosted by one of the most historic churches in town? Hard to beat. Sunday, April 4, 10:15am, gather at St. Paul’s Church (Capitol Square downtown), free!
