Richmond Young Writers shown the love on Kickstarter

They reached their goal in 2 days but now their looking at making more improvements to their space.

Richmond Young Writers works with Richmond youth to nurture the next generation of local writers. They’ve recently obtained a space next to Chop Suey in which to craft their art.

As always, when moving into a new space there is work needed. To raise $6,500 the Richmond Young Writers started a Kickstarter campaign three days ago. It was fully funded in two days. It will be interesting to see how much they end up raising.

The following update was posted yesterday.

What a magical 48 hours. You guys have officially – already! – ensured that the Richmond Young Writers space will come to life in June. We are forever grateful to you, and we feel deeply heartened by this experience. And this community.

The plan for the next 27 days of the campaign is to dream REALLY BIG, and post updates with our ‘stretch goals’ – the things that we’ve wanted for RYW, but thought would have to wait for a while. Our first stretch goal update will appear tomorrow.

For today, the biggest, brightest, most electrifying THANK YOU known to man.
