Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan will lead area rally

Less than a week after being selected by Mitt Romney to be his running mate, Paul Ryan will headline a campaign rally in the area.

On Friday, newly minted Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan will lead a campaign rally at Deep Run High School in Glen Allen. It will be Ryan’s second trip to the Richmond Region in a week.

The “Victory Rally” will begin at 11:00 AM. Gov. Bob McDonnell and Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling are expected to attend. This event is one of several campaign rallies that will likely occur in the region leading up to November’s presidential election. Virginia is a swing state, and both the President Obama and Mitt Romney campaigns are actively courting its voters.

Friday’s rally attendees are asked to RSVP on the Romney campaign’s website. Doors will open at 9:00 AM.
