Professors to discuss sexual assault on college campuses
The forum will be held on March 19th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the W.E. Singleton Center for the performing Arts.

Two philosophy professors will discuss the topic of sexual assault on college campuses at an upcoming forum at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Heidi Lockwood, Ph.D., associate professor of philosophy at Southern Connecticut State University, and Michael Tooley, Ph.D., professor of philosophy at the University of Colorado at Boulder, will speak from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on March 19 at the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, 922 Park Ave.
The forum is hosted by VCU’s Department of Philosophy in the College of Humanities and Sciences and will be free and open to the public.
“Colleges are being asked to deal more forcefully with sexual assault on campus,” said Mikhail Valdman, Ph.D., associate professor of philosophy at VCU and an organizer of the event. “There are questions about how they should go about doing so and whether they are well-suited to the task. We hope to bring a thoughtful and civilized discussion to this deeply important issue.”
The forum is part of the Department of Philosophy’s ongoing series of lectures and debates called “Philosophy and Public Affairs.”
