Police seek tire slasher

Three car owners had an unpleasant surprise when they tried to drive off Saturday morning.

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the suspect in the attached photo who slashed tires in the Fan.

At approximately 3:50 a.m. on Friday, January 1, a male was walking in the 500 and 600 blocks of Ryland Street and used a knife to slash tires on three vehicles. He is also suspected of slashing tires on a vehicle on Franklin Street and on a vehicle on Grace Street nearby.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a rumpled suit. He has dark hair and a beard.

Detectives ask anyone with any information about this man’s identity to call Third Precinct Detective Greg Sullivan at (804) 646-1950 or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000. Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by your tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
