Police need help identifying man who robbed store, panhandled afterward

It happened at the Exxon at 7100 Patterson Avenue on Monday around 11:00 PM.

From the Richmond Police:

At approximately 11 p.m. on Monday, June 2, a man walked into the Exxon station at 7100 Patterson Ave. and robbed the business.

Though there are no surveillance images of the incident, the same man was also seen panhandling in the area for several days after the robbery.

The man is described as a white male, 5’9” to 5’-11” feet tall, weighing 180 to 200 pounds and in his mid- to late-40s. He had a mustache and may have a scraggly beard now, as well as salt and pepper hair. He may be homeless and was last seen wearing green sweat pants, a grey Mt Bike baseball cap, sunglasses and his name may be “Ray.”

    More people would know where this location is if you used the name of the station..Village Exxon. Also this intersection, Patterson and Three Chopt, is where a lot of panhandlers do their thing because it is close to Henrico but still technically in the City of Richmond.
