Police looking for Newport cigarette theif

The Notorious Newport Nabber is stalking local stores.

I know cigarettes are expensive but if you’re going to break into a store you might as well steal more than a few cartoons of cigarettes. Maybe some gum so your breath isn’t so nasty after smoking those nasty cigarettes.

Richmond Police and Chesterfield County Police detectives need the public’s help to identify a man who has committed four burglaries, all to steal cartons of Newport cigarettes. He can be seen in the attached surveillance images.

In the city, he is believed to have committed these crimes:
*At approximately 4:30 a.m. on July 19, an unknown male broke into the 48 Hour convenience store at 5091 Forest Hill Ave. and stole several cartons of Newport cigarettes,
*At approximately 5 a.m. on July 31, an unknown male broke into the Food Lion at 6409 Jahnke Road and stole more than a dozen cartons of Newport cigarettes,
*At approximately 1 a.m. on Aug. 2, an unknown male broke into the same Food Lion again and stole numerous packs of Newport cigarettes.

The same man is suspected of burglarizing the Food Lion at 8006 Buford Court in Chesterfield County within minutes of the Aug. 2 burglary in Richmond. He stole several cartons of Newport cigarettes from the Chesterfield County store.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as an older-model, green, four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry or Corolla, with a defective right front headlight.
