Police cruiser ends up in Fan front yard

Filed under things you don’t see everyday. A police car ended up in a Fan front yard after avoiding a car that pulled out in front of it. The other car can’t be blamed too much since the police car didn’t have it’s lights or siren on.

The crash happened after an officer spotted a car driving without headlights along the 1800 block of West Main Street around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, according to police. Investigators said the when the officer sped up to catch up with the driver, another car pulled out in front of the officer.

The police officer swerved to avoid hitting the driver. The police cruiser ended up in someone’s yard. No one was hurt.

Witnesses said the police car accelerated without its lights or siren on. Police said they are investigating to see how fast the officer was going at the time of the accident.
