Images: Artistic Storm Drains

A great project and really nice finished works.

Back in May the City of Richmond along with the Department of Public Utilities held the Storm Drain Art Project asking artiste to submit storm drain designs. The drains needed to convey “It All Drains to the James.” A panel of judges, to include the Richmond Public Art Commission, selected five winners to paint their art on storm drains along Tredegar Street. The five selected artists will each receive a $300 stipend for their materials, time and work.

Please excuse the funky angles taking pictures of storm drains is much harder than expected.
