The Partnership for Families and Communities in Schools are teaming up to present the 2nd annual Parent Power Conference on Friday, April 24 and Saturday April 25. Due to last year’s overflow crowd, the conference is moving to a larger venue – Carver Elementary School, 1110 W. Leigh St. The Parent Power Conference is a great opportunity for parents to learn new ways to thrive in today’s rocky parenting landscape. The program is especially designed to help caregivers of children 0-10 years old to “Get Charged Up” about facing the unique parenting challenges in the urban environment. Participants will leave the conference with new tools, a renewed spirit and maybe even a new friend or two!

The Parent Power Conference kicks off on Friday, April 24 at 6:00 pm with dinner and an inspirational and entertaining program that includes touring comedian Micah “Bam Bamm” White. White is a nationally known talent who has performed with D.L. Hughley, Rickey Smiley, Bob Saget, Bernie Mac, Eddie Griffin, and more. Then the conference gets down to business on Saturday with workshops and seminars on relationships, finances, healthy living, planning for the future, parenting and other topics that are relevant to today’s parents. There will also be a “Beauty Break”, meals and refreshments, door prizes, and even free child care and transportation from Richmond’s Northside.

Thanks to our generous sponsors, BB&T and Barbara & Berkley Pickels and Ace Electric Co., Inc., the Parent Power Conference is FREE. But space is limited. Call The Partnership at 804-353-4264, ext. 111 to reserve your spot. Find the Parent Power inside of YOU!

Partnership for Families is a nonprofit organization that changes lives of families with young children through a collaborative community of support.  It works with families to help navigate the complex landscape of social services, and coordinates services from often-unrelated organizations to stabilize the family and ensure children’s readiness for kindergarten.
