New chapter opening for bookstore as it moves to Carytown

Where once there was yarn now there will yarns of a different sort.

Bbgb currently sells its books in the Museum District at 3100 Kensington Ave. but the need for larger space has inspired them to move to Carytown just a few doors down from Chop Suey Books. Their current location will shut down operation in mid July.

More from Richmond BizSense.com.

Jenesse Evertson and Jill Stefanovich plan to re-open their bookstore bbgb at 3003 W. Cary St. They signed a five-year lease for the 1,600-square-foot shop. The Carytown space had been home to The Yarn Lounge since 2005 before the knitting store closed in January.

“We’ve been looking for a couple years for a space in Carytown,” Stefanovich said. “We treated (our current shop) as our test space.”

Stefanovich said she and Evertson needed more space to host events for visiting authors

Yay! I was worried when I drove past their Museum District location the other day and saw an August vacancy sign for the building!
