Mystery cello lands in Manchester

A donation, a request for repair? Inquiring minds want to know.

Did anyone give the cello seen above up for adoption? The mystery was posted to the RVA Reddit.

So, hey, reddit RVA! This is your friendly local violin shop down in Manchester. A month (or two?) ago some fine individual left a cello and an old violin case on my doorstep with no note and no contact info. I have no idea what to do with it.

What I’d like to do is fix it up and donate it to a local school, but I wanted to give the owner a chance to claim it and give me a buzz about it before I did.

Here’s what you need to do to claim it: give me some general information about its looks, age, and any distinguishing features including what major repair needs to be done to it (yes, it needs a major repair) and any information about the label inside.

If I don’t hear anything in the next month or so I’m fixing it and donating it.

Hit me up on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or my webpage (http://fourstringsrva.com).
