Tomorrow, September 25th is a big day for Richmond museums, as many of them will be opening their doors, free of charge, to the general public, as part of Smithsonian Magazine’s sixth annual Museum Day.
Last year’s Museum Day attracted over 300,000 visitors to museums across the country, and 2010 is expected to break that record.
The Virginia Historical Society’s President and CEO, Paul A. Levengood, has this to say:
“Last year was the first year the Society participated in Museum Day and I think everyone who came to the VHS had an enjoyable, educational, and entertaining visit. We look forward to seeing even more people for this year’s event as there are three new exhibitions on display that were not up for last year’s Museum Day.”
Download a ticket and secure free admission for two at any of the following participating museums:
The Museum of the Confederacy
The John Marshall House
The American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar
University of Richmond Museums
The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
The Siege Museum (Petersburg)
Centre Hill Museum (Petersburg)
