Lite 98’s Bevins, Perkins leaving station at end of the month

Two of RVA’s most recognizable voices are bidding adieu to the airwaves.

Lite 98 morning show hosts Bill Bevins and Shelly Perkins will resign at the end of December after hosting the top-rated morning program on 98.1 for 13 years.

In an interview with CBS6, Bevins, who has been with Lite 98 for 19 years, said he plans to expand his role on CBS6’s Virginia This Morning as well as work with an advertising agency.

Perkins, who began working at Lite 98 as an intern in 1999, said she plans to join a marketing firm in the interim.

Both Bevins and Perkins have declined to discuss what prompted their resignations. The pair’s last day on air will be sometime around Christmas.
