Kickers march to claim the Open Cup is headed to Florida

Aromas Cafe FC fall to Richmond Kickers 4-0.

Richmond scored two goals in each half, through Sunny Jane and Hugh Roberts in the first and Anthony Grant and Luiz Fernando in the second. The first goal occurred shortly after the start of the game and the third goal shortly after the start of the second half. Those strong starts in each half were enough to doom the amateur team Aromas Cafe FC out of Charlottesville.

Kickers next take on the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers, of the NASL, in the third round at Ft. Lauderdale on June 1. The Strikers seem to be in a bit of disarray and are currently in eighth place out of eleven with a record of 2-2-2.

The winner of the match on June 1st will head up I-95 and face MLS squad D.C. United at the Maryland Soccer Complex on June 15th.

The celebration picture you see at the top of this article was picked up by US Soccer and is on display for the world to see which is pretty awesome for the Red Army, Kickers, and photographer James Loving.
