Join Walk For National Victims’ Rights Week

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – The Central Virginia Victim Services Coalition invites the community to join in a 1.2-mile walk Saturday, April 25, to recognize National Victims’ Rights Week, April 26-May 2. The walk will take place at the Chesterfield County Courthouse Complex, 9500 Courthouse Road. Registration is free and begins at 9 a.m. There will be a brief ceremony prior to the start of the walk. The theme of this year’s National Victims’ Rights Week is “25 Years of Rebuilding Lives: Celebrating the Victims of Crime Act.” The Central Virginia Victim Services Coalition is a network of victim-services providers and advocates collaborating in an effort to exchange information and ideas, share resources, and identify needs related to victims and witnesses of crimes. The coalition advocates for the development of local and community-based resources throughout the state to provide services to crime victims and witnesses, and to promote advocacy of crime victims’ rights within the justice system and in the legislature at state and national levels.
