Jimmy John’s coming to Carytown
Currently there are five Jimmy John’s in the immediate Richmond area.
If I’m totally honest with myself I’ll never forgive Jimmy John’s for taking over the Moveable Feast spot in Shockoe Slip. Fast food chain setting up shop in what I considered sandwich holy ground. As I struggle to move past that event it’s with a critical eye I bring you word of a new Jimmy John’s setting up on Cary Street.

Gray Broughton next month plans to open a Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches shop at 3314 W. Cary St. in Carytown, across from Mary Angela’s Pizza.
Broughton, a partner at Richmond-based law firm Williams Mullen, signed a five-year lease in December for the 2,280-square-foot space, formerly home to an H&R Block.
“Carytown is a Richmond landmark,” Broughton said. “The space we’re taking over has been a bit of an eyesore for the last several years.”
Planned renovations include outdoor seating and a new façade, Broughton said.

Do not support this place or its awful owner.
That’s enough for me to never go there. Vote with your dollars – there are a lot of alternatives.
Say NO to Jimmy John’s. Support the non-chain eateries in Carytown.
As if you even need a moral reason not to eat stale, bleached-white bread stuffed with mechanically separated horse meat.
