2014 local election results
The results are in for the local contests, but the Senate race is (mostly) too close call.
Update #1 — November 5, 2014; 7:04 AM
After yesterday’s election, the local results are as follows:
- Mark Warner holds a small 17,259 vote margin over Ed Gillespie in the Senate race. Warner has declared victory, but Gillespie has yet to concede.
- The constitutional amendment to exempt veteran’s spouses from property tax passed.
- Bobby Scott collected 94.11% of the vote running unopposed in the 3rd District.
- Republican Dave Brat pummeled democrat Jack Trammell by more than 40% and is now the 7th District’s new congressman.
- Rosalyn Dance easily won the Virginia’s 16th Senate District seat over Preston Brown.
- Edward F. Jewett is Richmond’s Clerk of Court.
The contest between Senator Mark Warner and challenger Ed Gillespie may end up in a recount. We’ll keep you updated.
