Henrico County Police to dedicate police K9 memorial

The dedication is happening today.

From Henrico RPD:

On Friday, May 6, 2016, at 10:00 AM, the public is invited to share in the dedication of the Henrico County Police Division’s K9 Memorial. The K9 Memorial is located at the Henrico Police K9 Facility and Training Center, 420 Dabbs House Road, Henrico, in the former Henrico Animal Shelter.

Police Chief Humberto I. Cardounel, Jr and County Manager John A. Vithoulkas will offer remarks. Join us for the history of the Henrico County Police Division’s K9 Unit and meet members of the Police Division including officers and command staff.

The Henrico County Police Division’s K9 Memorial was made possible by an anonymous donor who wanted to honor the history and service of the Henrico K9 Unit.

The picture above is of Grace. Fortunately she is not a part of the K9 memorial. She is an active member of the Henrico Police force and serves as a trailing dog and can be used to search or trail for missing/lost persons, suspects, or items such as clothing.
