Have a Nice Day Cafe building sold

It won’t be a nightclub but we don’t know what is going into the space.

Have a Nice Day Cafe, was located in a building at 11 South 18th Street and was often the subject of discussion when the issues of safety and crime came up in Shockoe Bottom. Have a Nice Day Cafe closed in 2013 after running afoul of ABC regulations but perhaps is best known because of a 3 murders that took place near (not on) the property.

According to RTD the building has been sold for $575,000.

No word yet on what will be going into the spot but one of the stakeholders in the building had this to say to RTD.

Wyatt also said the new owners would not use the building as a music venue.

“The sale is predicated on the building having a different use,” Wyatt said. “I’m pretty sure it will be offices.”
