Fast Eddie: Fat man, you shoot a great game of pool. – Minnesota Fats: So do you, Fast Eddie.

Richmond BizSense.com article has all the details on Greenleaf’s Pool Room that is set to open August 23rd on the ground floor of the John Marshall building (100 N. 6th Street). Besides 13 tables, that can be rented for $14/hour, there will be a bar and sit down restaurant.

The pool hall will be open Tuesday through Saturday between 11 a.m. and 2 a.m. On Sunday and Monday, Greenleaf’s will be open between noon and midnight.

Gottier expects some players will come to Greenleaf’s during the day when the rates are discounted. In the evenings, he said he hopes to attract the happy-hour crowd, league players, and service industry workers looking to unwind.

“The great part about a pool hall is that it comes in waves throughout the day,” Gottier said of foot traffic.

The name Greenleaf’s comes from Ralph Greenleaf a pool champion from the 1920’s known just as much for his drinking as his pool playing.
