Got zine? Get a table at the Richmond Zine Festival
Local makers of words and other items will be present.
The Richmond Zine Fest has been held since 2007 and provides zine-makers the chance to meet other makers and of course zine readers. Zines will be sold, traded, discussed and praised at the Main Branch of the Richmond Public Library (101 East Franklin Street).
It’s an open event for all ages with tablers selling zines as well as other DIY items, informative and fun workshops throughout the afternoon, and good times, food and conversation in general.

From Stolen Sharpie Revolution, and pronounced like magazine without the “maga-,” a zine is an independently created publication containing anything you want it to; personal experiences and stories, political ideologies, music related writing, gardening tips, fiction, travel stories, comics, photography, or anything you like. zines can be put together by one person or a group of people and they are usually photocopied but can also be printed offset, letter press, or mimeographed.
This year’s Richmond Zine Fest will be Friday, September 30, and Saturday, October 1st from 11 AM to 4 PM. I realize that seems like the distant future but last year they ran out of space so don’t wait too long. Fill out an application here.
