Good morning, RVA! It’s 62 °F, and, again, let us shout it loud from the rooftops: long sleeves! Highs today will hit the almost-80s, so you’ll probably want to remove those long sleeves as the day progress. The name of the game is layers.

Oh man was yesterday’s Big Bike Race™ exciting! Americans placed 2nd and 3rd in the Junior Men’s Time Trial, and the battle for the podium in the Elite Women’s Time Trial went down to the final second of the race. Today’s race starts at King’s Dominion, runs down through the Northside, and into town. It all begins at 1:00 PM. Susan Howson has everything you need to know about all of these things (including road closures and info on free entry to Kings Dominion!). Remember: You can stream the whole race if you’re stuck inside or at work!
A Viriginia State Police report has found that ABC agents did not use an inappropriate amount of force while arresting Martese Johnson–who you’ll remember as the Black UVA student agents arrested for mostly procedural reasons this past St. Patrick’s Day. He ended up with a bloody face after agents put his head on a collision course with the sidewalk. You can read the entire massive set of interviews and evidence (PDF) that lead police to their determination if you so desire.
Writing for Style Weekly, Elliott Shaffner, has this effusive review of Sabai. I’ll tell you what guys, the hangout vibe in that place is wonderful.

Here’s an article that, depending on how you feel about Apple, illustrates how wonderfully hard they work to perfect every aspect of each product or how breathlessly eye-rolly they are about every dang thing.
“Engineering-wise, the hardware to build a display that does what [3D Touch] does is unbelievably hard,” says Schiller. “And we’re going to waste a whole year of engineering–really, two–at a tremendous amount of cost and investment in manufacturing if it doesn’t do something that [people] are going to use. If it’s just a demo feature and a month later nobody is really using it, this is a huge waste of engineering talent.”
