Good morning RVA: A snowy morning commute

It’s cold this morning. It might snow on your way to work. They better have the coffee ready when you get there.

Good morning RVA! It’s 31 °F right now, and there’s definitely a chance of snow today–especially during the morning commute hours. It shouldn’t last too long and not much (if any) should accumulate, but you know how it gets around here when folks drive in any amount of snow. This afternoon temperatures will climb to the mid/upper-30s, the sky will clear up, and we’ll pretend this snow business never happened.

As of this moment the roads are fine, but if/when the snow starts…be careful!

All area schools are currently are open and await your adorable children.

Yesterday, Governor Terry McAuliffe, Mayor Dwight Jones, and the UCI released the course maps for the 2015 UCI Road World Championships. The courses pass by plenty of central Virginia’s landmarks, cross all over town, and head up some pretty intense cobblestone hills in Church Hill.

A teenager was shot early yesterday morning on the city’s south side (3600 McRand Avenue) and died later that afternoon. Police are, currently, describing this as a “death investigation.” If eventually labeled a murder it would make for the seventh murder this year in Richmond and the fourth along the Hull Street corridor.

Francophiles! The French Film Festival has released its entire schedule! While it’s still a million years away (March 27th – 30th), there’s a lot of freaking films to dig through–you better get started now. You can buy tickets online here.

Taco Bell announced a new breakfast menu that will debut on March 27th. Menu items range from normal sounding breakfast burritos to the bathroom-trip-inducing “waffle taco.” I can’t decide whether to be excited or disgusted.
